Product Care

With proper care, your C-View windows and doors will perform beautifully for decades. Watch our care guides and follow the tips below.

Sliding Windows

Sliding windows require regular track cleaning and roller maintenance to ensure smooth, long-lasting operation. Follow these simple steps to keep your sliding windows performing at their best.

Care Tips

  • Clean tracks with a soft brush and vacuum every 3–6 months to remove dirt and debris.
  • Wipe frames with a mild detergent solution — avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Lubricate rollers annually with a silicone-based spray (not oil-based).
  • Check and clean the weep holes at the base of the frame to ensure water drainage.
  • Inspect weatherstripping annually and replace if cracked or compressed.

Sliding Doors

Heavy sliding doors benefit from regular roller inspection and track maintenance. Proper care ensures the door slides effortlessly and stays weather-sealed for years.

Care Tips

  • Clean the bottom track with a stiff brush and vacuum every 3 months.
  • Apply a dry silicone lubricant to the track surface and rollers every 6–12 months.
  • Wipe down frames and glass with a clean, damp cloth and mild detergent.
  • Check the locking mechanism operates smoothly — lubricate the lock barrel annually.
  • Inspect the bottom seal and replace if worn to maintain weather resistance.

Awning & Casement Windows

Awning and casement windows rely on friction hinges and stays for reliable operation. Regular attention to hinges and seals keeps them operating safely and efficiently.

Care Tips

  • Clean hinge arms with a soft cloth — avoid abrasive pads that can scratch the finish.
  • Lubricate friction hinges with a silicone spray once a year.
  • Check that the worm-drive stay engages and holds the window open securely.
  • Inspect perimeter seals for compression and replace if the window is no longer weather-tight.
  • Clean frame channels with warm, soapy water; rinse thoroughly.

Bi-Fold Doors

Bi-fold doors are a showpiece of any home. With a little regular maintenance they will fold smoothly and seal perfectly for many years.

Care Tips

  • Clean the top and bottom tracks every 3 months, removing all grit and debris.
  • Lubricate pivot pins and guide rollers with a dry silicone spray every 6 months.
  • Check that all panels align correctly — misalignment can strain hinges and seals.
  • Wipe down aluminium frames with warm, soapy water; avoid pressure washing.
  • Inspect the astragal seal between panels and replace if air or water is passing through.

Louvre Windows

Louvre windows collect dust on their blades and in the pivot cradles. Regular cleaning ensures smooth blade operation and keeps your louvres looking pristine.

Care Tips

  • Wipe each blade with a damp cloth every 1–2 months in dusty or coastal areas.
  • Clean pivot cradles with a soft brush to remove accumulated grit.
  • Apply a small amount of dry lubricant to blade pivot points annually.
  • Check the operating bar moves freely — do not force stiff blades.
  • For coastal properties, rinse the entire frame with fresh water monthly.
